Over the Christmas holidays, I spent a few hours updating my first personal website, tuscaloosaweb.com. It’s funny how Tuscaloosa Web came about. I started it in 1995. At that time I was learning how to create web pages using HTML code typed into the Notepad text program. This past weekend, as tornadoes were moving to the north and the south of Tuscaloosa, I completed an update of ForestLakeUMC.org, the website for my church, Forest Lake United Methodist. I’ve been a member there for close to twenty years and I have maintained a website for the church since 1998.
I have recently updated a web project I began 15 years ago. AlabamaInfo.com now has a slightly new look and is powered by WordPress, a blogging platform that can also be used as a content management system. AlabamaInfo.com was one of my earliest efforts at building a website. It began as one page and grew from there.
